Christmas Trees

Your Christmas Tree is a Special and Traditional Guest

We have moved and expanded our Christmas shop. We are now located in our summer scale house at the bottom of the hill overlooking our beautiful ponds. Come in and join us for a warm cup of Rose's own cider along with tasteful treats.

Choosing and cutting your own fresh, quality Christmas tree is a festive and fun event for the entire family. Rose’s grows two different varieties of trees: Fraser firs, and Blue spruces. This year all of our trees are $45 including tax, netting and disposal bag. We provide maps of the farm, saws, free netting and roping.

This year we open for our Christmas season on November 14, 2009  Our hours are Saturday and Sunday through November 23th,   10 am to 4 pm.  Starting November 27 through December 24th we will open Wednesday's through Friday's , 10 am to 4 pm and Saturdays and Sunday's, 9-4:30 and the fields are closed to new customers at 4 pm each day.  Please check our info line before coming at 860-633-7467 in case there are any changes to our hours.

If you wish to tag a tree, the charge is $25 for the tag and the balance of $20 will be due when you pick up your tree. If you wish for us to cut your tagged tree for you ,just call us at 860-633-6001 at least 24 hours ahead of the pick-up. We will suspend tagging on Nov.29, 2009.  After that date all trees will be cut-your-own.

Our Christmas Shop offers a wide variety of gifts, custom-made wreaths, gift baskets and farm-made pies, jams, fruit toppings and other gourmet items. We do our best to make this busy and festive time of year as convenient and enjoyable for you as possible.

Christmas Tree Info:

  • Until you’re ready to bring the tree into the house, keep it as cool as possible and in a bucket of water
  • When a tree is cut, sap is secreted from the cut and seals the pores of the tree. This is the reason why you must make a fresh cut ½ inch off the trunk immediately before you put it into your stand.
  • Make sure that your stand is big enough to support the tree and hold plenty of water.
  • Place the tree away from sources of heat.
  • Add water to the stand everyday.
  • Two to three weeks is the maximum time your tree should be kept inside the house.
